REPLACING A RECENT DEPARTURE

CHALLENGE

Kenzan Media, a developer of cross-platform broadcasting UI/UX applications, was looking to replace their departing VP, Product Management. There is a very limited candidate pool of VP, Product Management leaders in New York and those who are strong leaders are in high demand by many of the most exciting and well-known tech companies. This opportunity had many selling points that made it extremely attractive but overcoming this steep competitive market for the industry’s top Product Management leaders is a very challenging task. To make it more challenging there was a tight timeline to replace their departing VP, Product Management before it affected their projects and ability to retain their Product Management team.

ACTION

Our first focus was to understand the critical needs of the role and personality traits that would align with the current vision. We also formed a highly qualified value proposition that would captivate the attention of this limited candidate pool so that we could educate and engage interest in this lesser known company. Knowing the Product Management community so well enabled us to highlight the specifics of the opportunity that would be extremely attractive. We knew the approach to the initial conversation would be instrumental in creating the interest that would flip the power of decision to our client so their team could select from a short list of finest talent in the marketplace.

RESULT

TTS Media successfully found several candidates that our client was interested in hiring. The individual who ended up receiving an offer and was hired had the perfect combination of experience, entrepreneurial spirit and personality to immediately impact and lead their current projects and their Product Management team. RECRUITING + HIRING A LARGE TEAM

CHALLENGE

Horizon Media, the largest independent Agency won new business and needed to quickly recruit an industry leading Digital Strategy and Investment team. Captivating the attention of this extremely tight talent market of DR Digital Marketing leaders required a highly qualified approach to recruiting the key digital media leaders and mid-level rising stars who would immediately impact their business.

ACTION

For each role (73 in total) we mapped talent across the competitive landscape and leveraged our proprietary data, insight and industry intelligence to establish and attract the short lists of ideal prospects for each role. As we were already well aware of the general market perception (risk vs. opportunity) associated with these roles we were able expedite the recruitment process while guiding both the hiring leaders and professionals towards a clear mutual vision of the future.

RESULT

Using the Search methodology we were able to profile the senior management of our client’s competitors, provide a salary survey and provide a benchmark to test internal talent against. RECRUITING FOR A NEW ROLE

CHALLENGE

Drama Fever, a global digital broadcasting company was rapidly building it’s content and distribution network so needed to hire some key Sales, Planning, and Ad Operations leaders to help support and bolster the growth they were experiencing.  They were seeking strong sales, planning and ad operations leaders and after an unsuccessful attempt to conduct the search on their own, they engaged  TTS Media.

ACTION

TTS Media quickly realized that given the state of their current team and multiple hiring needs that there was an opportunity to combine two of their open roles into one role with a more experienced leader who could also impact new business in both a sales planning and ad operations role, thus saving the company money in salary and fees while finding one exceptional leader to handle both roles.

RESULT

TTS Media took steps to address the client’s hiring philosophy while also providing a couple of ideal candidates that supported our recommendation to hire one person instead of two. Not only did the client save money moving forward with our recommendation but the leader they hired has been instrumental in helping them lead and hire more people to build out their Sales, Planning and Operations team here in the US.

HIRING A STRONGER LEADER

CHALLENGE

Lippe Taylor, an independent PR and Marketing services agency was seeking a Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing, to hire a leader who could take the digital practice past the next inflection point. With little luck the company first tried to conduct the search on its own, then engaged several search firms.  Neither approach was fruitful.  The firm’s CEO + COO called on TTS Media to tackle the challenge.

ACTION

TTS Media’s team found an important clue while conducting its Deep Dive: The person who built the department was much stronger in some areas than others and this is why the department wasn’t growing as rapidly as it should. Pursuing this area of inquiry deeper enabled our team to identify the critical leadership skills, accomplishments, and personality that would bolster growth. Furthermore we were able to help create a more supportive and effective support team that was able to drive greater success.

TTS Media took steps to help this PR and Marketing services agency address the issues that not only made it difficult to attract the ideal business partner but the Deep Dive also offered significant clarity around the competencies and behaviors needed in a successful hire.  As a result we were able to swiftly identify the ideal professional profile and fill the position in less than 1 month—30 days ahead of schedule.  The new SVP, Digital Marketing has been a great fit and because of strong performance, TTS Media has been engaged to conduct more executive search work for the client.
